Hi! I’m Rach!

I am 33, mother of 11 and …… Only joking, I am 33, mother of an 11 year old boy and wife to a rather handsome Aussie!

I also have a rather cute doggy named Penny (or Penny Shark – like ‘baby shark’), she is a Bedlington Terrier and looks a bit like the bear off the ‘tatty teddy’ cards!

Since turning 30 I have gained a considerable amount of weight. A whopping 4 stone in fact (25.4kg)!!! I actually weigh more than I did when I was 9 months pregnant with my son. When pregnant I weighed 11 stone (69.8kg)! That really puts it into perspective doesn’t it!!

When I married my hubs I was just 9 stone 5 (60kg) and I was confident. I had no probs getting in a bikini or wearing tight clothes! I want to get back to that place where I feel happy in my skin!

Most of my adult life I’ve been slim, not thin or skinny but curvy slim, and confident!! I had a flat stomach and curvy hips and big boobs, an hourglass!

My weight gain was due to a number of factors:

I got married which = happiness and eating hubby sized portions.

I quit smoking which = hello food that tastes nice!

I had a flare up of Ulcerative Colitis, which = 18 months of steroids.

I had a stressful job and had terrible anxiety and depression, which = self loathing and over eating!

With battling physical and mental illness and steroid dependency I feel like I’ve literally been to hell and back.

To recap; I’ve had a really tough time over the last few years, especially the getting married bit!! 😂. Now I’m ready to reclaim my body and my confidence!

I started writing down my thoughts and how I was feeling, which led me to write this blog. I find that writing down my thoughts is a way to channel my energy away from food and also that sharing my journey may help others on a similar weight loss journey.
